Valor TempTrac device is not providing temperature readings.

Geotab - Valor TempTrac Setup

Overview

Add Geotab Device to Geotab Portal

Make sure that the Geotab device is added and functioning in Geotab

Configure Geotab Device Settings

·         Open the Geotab Device in MyGeotab

a)    Go to Vehicles

b)    Click the specific Vehicle (this will open the settings screen)





c)     Click on More Details


 

·         Under Detailed Device Info set the following settings:

a)    Turn GPS Receiver Off: 1 Hour

b)    Periodically wake GPS: On

c)     Turn external device off: 4 Hours





·         Go to Custom Parameters





a)    Add the following custom parameter:

b)    Click the Add new parameter button


 

 

 

You should see the following appear below:



(If the parameter isn’t turned on press the On button as above)

c)     Press Save





 

View Valor TempTrac Data

There are several readings that a reefer will send.

1.     To view the temperature readings go to Engine & Maintenance

Ø  Engine and Devices

Ø Measurements


 

 

2.     Enter “reefer” into the Diagnostics selection box and add all of them:



3.     You should see the below (there will be between 1 and 4 measurements listed depending on the number of temperature monitoring devices installed in the reefer)


4.     Click to see detailed measurement data:


 

Common issues

 

·         We are showing IOX-CAN present in measurements, but no temperature data is being received.

Make sure that the peripheral devices (wireless devices) are turned on.  There is a switch on them that needs to be turned to the ON position.

·         Temperature data is not coming through when vehicle is stationary.

Ensure that the custom parameter has been entered on the device screen.
